Assistant Project Manager / Estimator

Requirements:

  • General background on value engineering and design/build.

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and office, Bluebeam and scheduling/takeoff software.

  • 3+ years’ experience in construction

  • Preferred Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field experience

  • Must be able to pass drug test

  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and have own transportation.


Job Tasks:

  • Able to read architectural plans and specs to develop cost estimates

  • Strong understanding of construction processes

  • Prepare estimates and purchase orders in a timely fashion

  • Manage bid pricing from all vendors/suppliers

  • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors

  • Work closely with project management staff and service unit managers in coordinating bid calendar and projects to bid

  • Answer job questions from trades/suppliers and/or write/design RFI’s for the owner

  • Prepare, monitor and update; bidders, buyout, and submittal logs

  • Prepare project binders for Project Managers and Superintendents for each project

  • Helps determining project scheduling and putting together durations for estimates

  • Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
