Assistant Project Manager / Estimator
Requirements:
General background on value engineering and design/build.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and office, Bluebeam and scheduling/takeoff software.
3+ years’ experience in construction
Preferred Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field experience
Must be able to pass drug test
Valid NYS Driver’s License and have own transportation.
Job Tasks:
Able to read architectural plans and specs to develop cost estimates
Strong understanding of construction processes
Prepare estimates and purchase orders in a timely fashion
Manage bid pricing from all vendors/suppliers
Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
Work closely with project management staff and service unit managers in coordinating bid calendar and projects to bid
Answer job questions from trades/suppliers and/or write/design RFI’s for the owner
Prepare, monitor and update; bidders, buyout, and submittal logs
Prepare project binders for Project Managers and Superintendents for each project
Helps determining project scheduling and putting together durations for estimates
Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
