Exceptional knowledge of the techniques and terminology used in the operation of mechanical equipment
Ability to operate a variety of mechanical equipment, including heavy machinery and construction vehicles
Ability to follow oral or written instructions
Ability to work alone or with others
Ability to learn new work quickly
Physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position
Possession of a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State
Must be able to pass a drug test
Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites.
May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials.
May assist other craft workers.
